A TEAM of Ukrainian Veterans will be training for a month in an Oxfordshire RAF camp for the US Warrior Games.

The team arrived at RAF Brize Norton this week after a Carteron aerospace company, AirTanker, gifted their flights from Poland.

Team Lewis, with the support of The Blind Veterans UK and many other charities, have fundraised and dedicated their efforts to enable the Ukrainian Veterans to take part in the US Warrior Games – a similar competition to the UK’s Invictus Games.

The Ukrainian Veterans will spend a month in the UK to train as a team before they continue their journey to Orlando via a scheduled flight with the Royal Air Force, to compete in the games.

Phill Blundell, Chief Executive Officer of AirTanker, said:“On behalf of AirTanker, it is an absolute honour to have been able to contribute to this cause and safely transport Ukrainian Veterans to the UK in support of their inclusion in the US Warrior Games.

“This flight was able to be achieved through a great team effort and we thank all those involved. We wish all competitors the very best of luck in the games ahead.”
