Fire crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue scrambled to the scene of the blaze yesterday afternoon (July 11).

Firefighters were alerted to the fire in a field in Faringdon Road, Longcot, Faringdon at 5.08pm involving a standing crop of barley.
The crews worked together to create a fire break using specialist 4x4 vehicles to prevent the fire from spreading to other fields and allowed them to extinguish the main fire.
The electricity company in charge of the pylon also attended to isolate the pylon which had been accidentally struck, brought down and was the suspected cause of the fire.
The fire service gave the area a full check over at around 11.45pm and closed the incident down.
