The girls of Headington School took the main honours in the South of England Indoor Championships, hosted by Hinksey Sculling Club at the Park Sports Centre, Wheatley.
It was a fundraising event for the Hinksey club.
As John Broadhurst, one of the visionaries behind the club, said: "We have no set water, so the indoor championships on ergometers are the equivalent of that water regatta which we can't do."
There was a pleasing entry, some coming from London, but it was the girls of Headington who mainly took the eye, winning five overall classes and the day's Victor Ludorum Trophy.
Other local success came in the form of four wins for the Hinksey contingent and one each for St Edward's and Dragon School.
Outdoor action came at the Wycliffe Head, where three first places were achieved by locals - two for Wallingford RC and one for St Edward's School, albeit in poorly supported contests.
Although without a first place, Radley were probably the top locals of the day, taking two thirds and two fourths in big entry classes and a second in a quiet event.
'Teddies' managed a further second and third to go with their win.
