THE county fire service has finished its investigation into a house blaze.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze in Elm Close, Carterton, at midday on July 1.

On arrival, crews were faced with a severe fire involving the entire first floor and roof.

The property suffered a roof and gable collapse very early into the fire, which made the property unsafe to enter.

The fire service reported: “Over the last six days, the fire investigation team from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue, working alongside partners from Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance Service and Green Square Accord, has made the property safe, offered support to local residents and carried out an investigation into the cause of the fire.

“With operations now complete, we would like to express our gratitude to the residents of Shilton Park, in particular the residents of Willow Drive and Elm Close, for their patience and assistance.

“The property has now been handed over to Green Square Accord.”
