A MOTEL and diner based in Oxfordshire has received an award for its pioneering use of technology.
Mollie’s, which is based on the A420 near Faringdon, scooped this year’s Best Use of Technology Award at the Cateys.
The series of awards recognises and celebrate excellence among the professionals in the hotel industry.
The judges praised Mollie’s interface and data-driven ecosystem which make the chain one of the best in the UK, saying their work was a "very sound application of a system, uniquely applied for the benefit of customers and for building staff self-esteem."

Mollie's defines itself as “the classic American motel-diner brought bang up to date.”
It was founded and designed by Soho House as group of 21st-century “budget-luxe” motel-diners and has rapid expansion plans across the country, using technology to support this growth.

The judges said Mollie’s ensured the entire customer journey is a digital-led experience, through “innovative technologies” like the Mollie's app, which allows guests to check-in online, access their rooms through a digital key and pre-book electric charging bays for the vehicles.
Judge Jane Pendlebury said: "The clever integration of various different technology solutions is impressive. Mollie's did an excellent job of seeking expert advice and support to help pull together various pieces of software to create an enviable, all-encompassing solution."

Darren Sweetland, Mollie's managing director, said: "As our brand and footprint continues to grow, we will continue to innovate and invest in the optimal technology to create the perfect guest experience."
In April, the diner was taken over for a day by contenders on Gordon Ramsay's new BBC1 show, Future Food Stars.
