JUST as two senior Government figures were resigning, a Conservative MP tweeted to say he had been discussing the ‘important issue of safety within the fishing industry’.
The dual resignations of Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor Rishi Sunak sent shockwaves across the country this evening.

Mr Javid’s resignation as Health Secretary was quickly followed by the resignation of Mr Sunak this evening.
Meanwhile, Witney MP Robert Courts tweeted to say he had met North Oxfordshire MP Victoria Prentis during Maritime Safety Week.
Mr Courts tweeted: “Good to meet with Victoria Prentis today during Maritime Safety Week to discuss the important issue of safety within the fishing industry – reaffirming our departments’ shared commitment to reducing tragic deaths and accidents.”
