VOLUNTEERS are needed to work as "violence reduction navigators" at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Charity Connection Support says navigators are “there to provide a listening ear and practical support to patients attending A&E due to incidents involving violence.”
Navigators give support and advice to patients as part of the Thames Valley Police Violence Reduction Unit.

The service is delivered through a team of trained volunteers who signpost, refer or empower patients to tackle complex social issues and support them to end the cycle of repeated emergency department admissions.
The aim is to support the NHS by tackling the revolving door of patients appearing in A&E due to social issues such as substance misuse, mental health, poor diet or poor personal care and violence itself.
