People across Oxfordshire went flipping mad today as they took part in pancake races across the county.
In Oxford, staff at the Churchill Hospital in Headington took part in the race to raise funds for the new Cancer and Haematology Centre.
More than 20 members of staff donned fancy dress to flip their way around the four-lap course. The race was won by physiotherapist Emma Cuerden.
Miss Cuerden, 28, said: "I only decided to take part in the race the day before, but I thought it was good to get involved and raise money for a good cause."
Staff, pupils and parents took part in a pancake race at Bletchingdon Primary School. There were races for each year group, as well as a staff race, a mums' race and a dads' race.
Headteacher Kim Amos said: "Everyone had a wonderful time. We just managed to complete the race in time before a heavy rain shower."
Wallingford held its biggest ever pancake race with 30 runners taking part along the course which began and ended in Market Place.
More than 200 people turned out to watch the event.
A chef and waiters from the Spanish El Vina restaurant ran with staff from Hedges Solicitors, carers from old people's homes and school pupils.
Sophie Dawson from Hedges Solicitors won the race, raising money for WhizKidz.
At St Andrew's School, in Wantage, more than 60 pupils took part in pancake races throughout the afternoon.
Headteacher Margaret Parkes said: "During the race the younger children just wanted to eat the pancakes, but we had to stop them as they had been on the floor a few times."
