A 21-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed in a public park in broad daylight.
Here is everything we know so far:
- The incident happened in People's Park, Banbury at around 4pm on Saturday.
- Detective Inspector Rob Platt said there would have been 'many witnesses' to what happened.
- The 21-year-old man was left with 'serious stab injuries'.
- He was first taken to hospital in a critical condition - the most serious condition. In an update on Sunday, police say he is now in a serious but stable condition.
- DI Platt said members of the public rushed to give him first aid and gave the victim the 'best possible chance of surviving'.
- A 15-year-old boy from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
- He was arrested on Sunday. Police usually have 24 hours to question somebody before they must make a decision to release them or charge them. In serious cases they can apply to the courts to hold suspects for longer.
- On Sunday evening, another boy, aged 16, has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
- On Monday afternoon, a third boy has was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
- Police officers have reassured members of the public that there is a 'thorough investigation' taking place.
- Anybody with camera footage of the incident is being asked not to share it online.
- The park was closed after the incident until Monday morning and police have a scene watch in place with an 'increased presence in the area'.
- DI Platt praised the people who raced to the victim's aid - saying that they gave him the 'best chance of survival'.
- Two more teenagers were arrested on Tuesday.
