THE closure of roads for works, in addition to new double yellow lines being introduced in East Oxford are just some of the public notices issued by local councils in the last week.

Each week, local authorities in Oxfordshire issue the notices, which cover roadworks, in addition to both licensing and planning applications.

 

Sex shop: We Love Empire Ltd has applied to Oxford City Council to transfer a Sex Establishment Licence for use of Private Shop, 54 Cowley Road, Oxford, as a sex shop.

Any person wishing to oppose the application should write to the Head of Community Services, Oxford City Council, 3rd Floor, St Aldates Chambers, 109 St Aldates, Oxford, OXI IDS, by no later than June 29 2022.

Letters in support should also be sent to the Head of Community Services by that date. Please note that any written representations received in response to this consultation are likely to be required to be made available for public inspection in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.

 

Road closures:

Sutton Road east of Milton will be closed  from June 6 because of electrical ducting installation works which are expected to be completed June 26.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via, High street, Milton - Brook Street, Drayton Road, Milton Road, Drayton Road, Sutton Road and vice versa.

 

Oxford Road in East Hanney will be closed overnight from June 30 because of BT ducting being placed in the footway and carriageway which is expected to be completed July 13. Works will operate between 8pm and 6am.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via the A338, Station Road, A417, Denchworth Road, Faringdon Road, Stanford Road, A420, A338, Oxford Road and vice versa.

 

Didcot Broadway will be closed overnight to through traffic and there will be no waiting allowed from June 27 because of carriageway resurfacing works which are expected to be completed on July 7. Works will operate between 7pm and 6am.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via the B4493, Station Road, Hitchcock Way and vice versa.

 

Didcot Broadway will be subject to a Waiting, Loading and Unloading prohibition from June 8 because of drainage repairs and kerb repair works to be carried out in the highway which are expected to be completed July 5.

Works will operate between 7am and 7pm. The effect of the order is to prohibit waiting, loading and unloading in Broadway between St Andrews Road and Civic Hall. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the prohibition is in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works.

 

New double yellow lines in East Oxford: Oxfordshire County Council is introducing the following measures:

a) Reliance Way - on both sides between the junction with Cowley Road and the spur leading to Saunders Road. Allocated parking bays will remain available for parking;

b) Saunders Road - a) on the northeast side in front of the bollards at its junction of Reliance Way, and b) on the southeast side outside properties 42-58 for approximately 50 metres.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the council by June 24.
