A neighbourhood team has thanked the community after dozens of food parcels were delivered to vulnerable people during the Platinum Jubilee.

The Banbury Neighbourhood Team thanked Banbury BID, Banbury Town Council Events, The Lunch Box Project and Hellofresh for their “kind” donations.

Then volume of food supplied meant the team were able to donate 24 food parcels to vulnerable people, 40 afternoon teas to people in sheltered accommodation and 60 sandwiches to people who are homeless or sofa surfing.

As well as this, three large crates of fresh fruit and vegetables to a number of sheltered accommodation providers in the area.

A spokesperson Banbury Neighbourhood Team said: “Their kind donations allowed isolated people to join in the celebration and feel part of the local community #platinumjubilee #communitymatters.”
