More than 80 per cent of employers fear being taken to an employment tribunal by their staff, according to recent research.

But what can be done to avoid potentialy damaging and costly legal action?

A seminar designed to advise firms on this and other employment-related issues is being held by law firm Peninsula.

Managing director Peter Done said: "Employers are spending on average ten hours a week dealing with red tape.

"The seminar will advise employers on how to cut through the minefield and avoid being prosecuted."

Present and forthcoming changes to employment law and will be covered alomng with health and safety obligations employers must follow.

The event is open to managing directors/ directors only and will include a question and answer session.
