SAM JONES, 31, of Bridges Road, Norton Canes, Staffs., pleaded guilty to drink driving a Mercedes Sprinter van in Oxford on June 10 last year. Tests showed he had 53mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was fined £615 and banned from the road for three years. He must pay £150 in costs and a £62 victim surcharge.
KAYSHARN WILLIAMS, 22, of Peckham Hill Street, London, was fined £120, banned from the roads for a year and must pay £119 in costs and surcharge for driving a Fiat Punto in Oxford while over the cannabis drug-drive limit.
KERRI O’CALLAGHAN, 35, of Furlong Close, Oxford, admitted disorderly behaviour in Headington on October 9 last year. The bench found the offence was aggravated as the behaviour was motivated by the defendant’s attitude towards her victim’s sexual orientation. She was ordered to pay £50 in compensation and given a six month conditional discharge. She must pay a £22 victim surcharge.
DANIEL OAKES, 35, of Hollow Way, Headington, was jailed for 22 weeks after he pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by going to Wynbush Road, Oxford, on April 22. That put him in breach of a suspended sentence imposed by Westminster magistrates the day earlier for assault. He was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
CHRISTOPHER TAYLOR, 34, of Oxford Road, Bodictoe, admitted damaging a property and a BMW in Horsefair and Walterbush Road, Chipping Norton, last July. He also assaulted a man and woman. The offences put him in breach of a suspended sentence, imposed in October 2020 for possession of a knife in Chipping Norton. He was jailed for a total of 16 weeks and must pay £300 in compensation. A restraining order prevents him from contacting the victims of the assaults for two years. He must not go to Walterbush Road, Chipping Norton.
JAY MAXIMUS, 39, of The Moors, Kidlington, was found guilty of using threatening behaviour towards two men in Pear Tree Park and Ride last August. He must pay £150 in compensation.
JAMES WALLACE, 44, of Meryvale Road, Birmingham, admitted failing to attend Banbury Magistrates’ Court – in 2017. He had been due to attend the courthouse, which has since closed, on September 11, 2017, to answer an allegation he assaulted a woman in Cotswold Crescent, Chipping Norton, the previous month. Finally appearing before the courts in April, he pleaded not guilty to the assault, with prosecutors offering no evidence. However, he was jailed for five weeks and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge for failing to surrender.
LEIGH CLARKE, 30, of Well Lane, Curbridge, admitted assaulting a man in Carterton last June and failing to pay a £69 bill at Aangon Restaurant in the south Oxfordshire town. He was bailed to attend Oxford Crown Court on May 26. Clarke is currently subject to a crown court suspended sentence imposed last August
LEVENTICA PAUN, 28, of Tintern Close, Slough, was fined £120 after she was found guilty of fraud by false representation. In Abingdon on March 6, 2020, she persuaded her victim to hand over money in the belief it would go towards a non-existent charity. The defendant was ordered to pay £5 in compensation and £134 in costs and surcharge.
