One street in Oxford city centre appears to have more empty shop units than any other.
The Oxford Mail has documented the empty units on popular shopping roads in the city, as well as in the Covered Market and the Clarendon Centre. You can read more about this HERE.
Our investigation found High Street has nine empty units on it, the most of any street documented.

The empty units include the sites previously occupied by Giga Fix, Space NK and Oxford Print Company.
A spokesperson for Oxford City Council said: "The latest audit (March 2022) shows that Oxford has a 4.9 per cent vacancy rate across its retail units in the city centre.
"This is below the ‘churn’ or ‘regular turnover’ figure of 5 per cent that is to be expected with changing business circumstances."
