There are currently around 650 e-scooters for hire in Oxford, owned by Voi, as part of an Oxfordshire County Council public trial that began in February 2021.
Grant Shapps confirmed in April he would make an announcement about the legalisation surrounding e-scooters in the Queen’s Speech 2022.
The Queen's Speech is written by Her Majesty's ministers and is an annual tradition.
The speech itself does not guarantee that an announcement will become law, and not everything announced will, but within hours of the speech being delivered MPs gather in the House of Commons to debate the issues included.
