A lost chinchilla turned in the garden of an Oxfordshire home.
The small creature was spotted by Sarah Jane, a resident of Willow Walk, who shared images of it on the Wantage Dog and Cat Watch Facebook group and ask people to contact her if it belonged to them.

She initially thought the animal was a degu, a small rodent originating from Chile, but fellow residents pointed out in the comments that it looked like a chinchilla.
The images Sarah Jane posted show the little animal hiding under a fence panel, with its brown and white fur and long tail clearly visible.
Since posting on the Facebook group Sarah Jane has not had anyone contact her about the animal and she is hopefully “it has found its own way home”.
