A RANGE of classic cars were on show as a popular event returned for the first time in two years.

Drive It Day was celebrated outside the visitor centre at Oxford’s Mini Plant, with local organisers paying particular attention to the ADO16 (1100/1300), a car which was built at Cowley.

‘It’s wonderful to be back’: Joyous scenes as May Morning makes return

Organiser Tanya Field said: “It went very well, we’ve had two years of not having Drive It Day.

“Our main display of the weekend was the brilliant ADO16 and we had 17 in total, which was lovely.

“It was a really good turnout from the community, with lots of people who hadn’t seen each other for a while so they were able to reconnect with each other.

“The event isn’t a fundraiser, and it’s not intended to be, but quite often people do want to donate for their tea and coffee, so this year we made £131 for the mental health charity, CALM.”
