MAY Morning roared back to the streets of Oxford after an enforced two-year absence due to Covid-19.
Celebrated remotely during the pandemic, one of the city’s most beloved traditions was attended by 12,500 people, initial estimates suggest.

Crowds gathered from 5am to take part in the festivities, which mark the coming of spring.
At 6am, silence descended upon High Street, to listen to the bells and choristers at Magdalen College.
Then, Morris dancing and folk singing took over the city centre – taking in Radcliffe Square, Broad Street and by the Bridge of Sighs.
