A DOG owner has been given a suspended prison sentence after his dog injured another man in Banbury.
Lee Mark Cowley, 39, of Wimborne Avenue, was founded guilty of overseeing a dog “dangerously out of control” after his shepherd cross hound, Zeus, injured someone.
Timothy Relton was hurt on January 4, 2019, by the light brown and white dog.

Zeus must now be kept under “proper control” and must wear a “non-chewable” muzzle. He also must be attached to a secure lead no longer than 1.5 metres when in the garden.
When around anyone under the age of 16, Zeus must be muzzled and secured. This is the same in the presence of any visitor until he is “calm and relaxed”.
The courts also ordered that Zeus must be walked by a “fit and proper person” over the age of 16 and must be supervised “very closely”.
Cowley has been told he must ensure that Zeus cannot exit the house on his own accord and that he must obtain third party liability insurance.

The courts said the restrictions are “reasonable and necessary to ensure public safety” as well as “alleviating any potential risk related to the dog.”
Cowley was also ordered to pay £400 as well as receiving a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 24 months due to the seriousness of Mr Relton’s injuries.
