An Oxford MP has welcomed the first Guantanamo Bay detainee to Parliament.
Layla Moran, who represents Oxford West and Abingdon, took to Twitter to welcome Mohamedou Ould Slahi.
Mr Slahi was detained at Guantánamo Bay detention camp without charge from 2002 until his release on October 17, 2016.

The U.S. government alleged he was part of al Qaeda at the time of his arrest in November 2001.

Sharing a picture with Mr Slahi, she said: “Last week, it was a privilege to welcome @MohamedouOuld to Parliament.
“He is the first foreign Guantanamo Bay detainee to come in to Parliament, and it was an honour to hear him speak about his harrowing experiences, and the problems he still faces as a result of his detention.”
