A café in Oxford has been handed a zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating, which is the lowest possible score.
That Coffee X, a café at 171 Cowley Road, Oxford was given the low hygiene score after an assessment on March 2, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
An inspector from Oxford City Council gave the café low scores for all the categories of assessment.

For the category ‘food hygiene and safety’ the café was marked ‘improvement necessary’, for ‘structural compliance’ it was told ‘urgent improvement necessary’ and for the category ‘confidence in management’ it was also told ‘urgent improvement required’.
The cafés rating means that of Oxford’s 390 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings 86 per cent have ratings of five and only one has a zero rating.
