Two men appeared at court in Oxford in the last six months for driving vehicles with excessive window tinting.

The men appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court for driving a vehicle in a condition likely to cause danger or injury.

Under the law, for vehicles first used after April 1 1985 the front windscreen must let at least 75 per cent of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70 per cent of light through.

It is illegal to fit or sell glass, or a vehicle already fitted with glass, that breaks the rules on tinted windows.

On December 21, Vadim Diacov, of The Severn in Daventry, appeared at court.

The court found that on September 10 2021 on Hennef Way in Banbury he drove a Renault van with excessive window tinting.

24-year old Diacov was fined £220, made to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £90.

His driving licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

Also on December 21, Edward Booker, of Spencer Crescent in Oxford, appear at the court.

It was found that on August 25 2021 he drove a Vauxhall Astra on Thames Street in Oxford with excessive window tinting.

Court documents stated that the front drivers and passengers windows were tinted so much that oly 15.8 per cent of light could be transmitted.

35-year old Booker was fined £220.
