A man from has been fined by a court in Somerset for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.

Roger House, of Insall Road in Chipping Norton, appeared at Bath Magistrates’ Court on April 1.

The court found that on May 18 2021 at Wellington in Somerset House drove a  White Scania R500 three axle flatbed heavy goods vehicle on the M5 southbound.

The vehicle was both overweight and of an excessive length.  

Court documents stated the ‘precarious position of the load and lack of necessary securing straps’ involved a danger of injury to any person.

58-year old House was fined £307, made to pay a victim surcharge of £190 and costs of £110. He was also handed three penalty points.
