OXFORD’S iconic Bridge of Sighs is being illuminated in the colours of the Ukraine flag, to show solidarity with the country.
Although popularly known as the Bridge of Sighs, the bridge is officially called Hertford Bridge as it connects two parts of Hertford College over New College Lane.
The below photos were taken by Jun Cao, who said the illuminated bridge is a reminder that there is ‘light despite all the darkness’.
She said: “Many Ukraine flags are flying high in Oxford right now, but the illuminated Bridge of Sighs is, without doubt, the most innovative and impressive one.
“It reminds people that if we can work together to illuminate a path, or a bridge in this case, there will be light despite all the darkness.”
