Tony Clarke, left, and Kevin Warland became honorary postmen for the day to mark the 60th anniversary of the National Association of Boys’ Clubs.
They were chosen from dozens of club members in Oxfordshire to represent the county at the Royal Festival Hall in London in 1985.

Boys throughout the country converged on the capital, each bringing a message of greeting from a local dignitary.

Kevin, 15, of Crotch Crescent, Marston, and from Wolvercote Boys’ Club, brought a message from the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Roger Dudman. Tony, also 15, of Bowbank, Longworth, and a member of Longworth Youth Club, handed over a letter from the Duke of Marlborough.
