Covid cases are on the rise in South Oxfordshire, as the government go ahead with plans to scrap free testing tomorrow.
A total of 43,125 cases was confirmed in South Oxfordshire when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on March 30, up 236 cases since Tuesday.
In the seven day Covid figures for the area, up to March 25, 1794 cases were recorded with a rate of 1247.7 cases per 100,000 people.
The area that has seen the highest increase in Covid cases is Shiplake & Binfield Heath which has seen a 50% increase since the seven day period up to March 24.
Hagbourne, Moreton & Cholsey has the highest number of new Covid cases at 158, followed by Didcot West at 129.
The top five Covid hotspots in the area, based on high Covid rates which take into account the population size, are:
- Thame South (1515.6 cases per 100,000 people)
- Hagbourne, Moreton & Cholsey (1508.4 cases per 100,000 people)
- Didcot West (1467.7 cases per 100,000 people)
- Didcot Ladygrove (1382.3 cases per 100,000 people)
- Thame North (1323 cases per 100,000 people)
