THIS year's Thames Run in Wallingford will be held six weeks earlier than usual.
The 14km run will take place on Sunday, June 8, starting at 10.30am.
HR Wallingford, the owners of Howbery Park industrial park, will back the run for the next three years with organisational and financial help.
The run was traditionally part of the Wallingford Fun Day, but in 2006 and 2007 it was cancelled because much of the course alongside the Thames was waterlogged.
John Ormston, director of HR Wallingford said: "We are extremely pleased to host the event and help generate money for Cancer Research UK and local charities."
