SAINSBURY’S in Littlemore can claim to offer the cheapest petrol in Oxford at the moment.

According to Allstar Business Solutions, the Heyford Hill station is selling petrol at 156.9p per litre, while diesel is at 171.9p.

The average fuel price in the UK today is 163.3p for petrol and 177.7p for diesel.

Allstar identifies low-cost fuel sites locally and offers up to date fuel prices from 90 per cent of the UK’s fuel sites.

According to Allstar, the most expensive place for petrol within 10 miles of Oxford is the BP garage in Cherwell Drive, Headington.

Prices at the pumps there are 163.9p for petrol and 184.9p for diesel.

Other garages are selling fuel at the following prices:

  • BP, Oxford Road, Cowley (161.9p and 181.9p)
  • Shell, London Road, Headington (161.9p and 177.9p)
  • Shell, Garsington Road, Cowley (161.9p and 173.9p)
