There are currently 50 potholes on Oxford’s roads which have been reported to the county council.

Reports of the potholes were made through Fix My Street, a map based website which enables people to report issues to their local authority.

A majority of the potholes currently reported are clustered London Road, Banbury Road and in Temple Cowley.

There are several potholes in the city centre, on roads including Botley Road, Park End Street and High Street.

One user who submitted a report said a pothole on High Street said it has been getting “progressively worse”.

They added: “Buses drop into the hole which makes it uncomfortable for passengers.”

Another resident reported one on the junction of Between Towns Road and Garsington Road.

They called it a “hazard to cyclists who could hit it and fall off in front of busy traffic”.

A third described one on Dunstan Road in Headington as “very deep” and “can not be avoided”.

The Oxfordshire County Council website states the council has a “limited budget to maintain roads, paths and cycle paths”. In order to best manage this budget the council will fix “reported potholes based on the risk that they pose to all road users”.

The council also carries out scheduled maintenance on the road.

Potholes can be reported directly on Fix My Street or via Oxfordshire County Council website oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents/roads-and-transport/street-maintenance-z/potholes?utm_term=nil&utm_content=#no-back
