ENVIRONMENTAL group Extinction Rebellion has defaced Oxford buildings and pavements with posters and graffiti to publicise a planned "disruptive" protest.
Earlier this week, the Oxford Mail reported that posters from the environmental activist group had popped up around the city and logos painted on pavements.
The posters, which include phrases ‘code red for humanity’, ‘our gov’t has failed us’ and ‘rebel for life’, were spotted on buildings and in bus stops.

The group said the posters were advertising a "mass resistance" event, starting on April 9 in London.
April Jones, an Extinction Rebellion member, said: "I'm not exactly happy about disrupting people, but I don't know what else I can do.
“The IPCC report that came out last month was terrifying. It told us we have ‘a brief and rapidly closing window to secure a liveable future.’
“That is what is at stake, and our government shows no sign that it appreciates the gravity of the situation."
The group has invited the people of Oxford to join in with the protest, which will begin at 10am in Hyde Park and will continue until April 17.

A spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion Oxford added: “We will not be bystanders as politicians dither, condemning the poor, our children, future generations, and the natural world to a devastating future.
“On the April 9 2022 we will rebel together against the fossil fuel economy and the powerful interests that are blocking the change we so desperately need.”
