A new show hitting Netflix was filmed in Oxford.
Anatomy of a Scandal, based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan, is a six-part drama series which depicts scandals faced elites class in the country.
Part of the series was filmed in Oxford and the trailer for the series clearly shows two characters running through the city’s streets.
What is it about?
The Netflix description of the show reads: ‘Sophie's privileged life as the wife of powerful politician James unravels when scandalous secrets surface — and he stands accused of a shocking crime.’
The synopsis of the book, which the series is based on, reads: ‘A high-profile marriage thrust into the spotlight. A wife, determined to keep her family safe, must face a prosecutor who believes justice has been a long time coming. A scandal that will rock Westminster. And the women caught at the heart of it.
‘Anatomy of a Scandal centres on a high-profile marriage that begins to unravel when the husband is accused of a terrible crime.
‘Sophie is sure her husband, James, is innocent and desperately hopes to protect her precious family from the lies which might ruin them.
‘Kate is the barrister who will prosecute the case - she is equally certain that James is guilty and determined he will pay for his crimes.’
Who stars in it?
The series will star a host of big names.
These include: Sienna Miller as Sophie Whitehouse, Michelle Dockery as Kate Woodcroft, QC, Rupert Friend as James Whitehouse, Naomi Scott as Olivia Lytton and Josette Simon as Angela Regan, QC.
What parts of Oxford feature in the show?
In March last year, filming was undertaken in the city for Anatomy of a Scandal.
Between March 25 and 28 areas around the city such as New College Lane, Brasenose Lane, and Pembroke Square were closed.
Pictures from Radcliffe Square showed production crews on site.
