Comedian Jimmy Carr is to perform in Oxford despite his recent controversy.
The comedian came under fire for his Netflix special titled His Dark Material, Carr joked that a "positive" of the Holocaust was the genocide of thousands of "Gypsies" by Nazi Germany.

At the time of the controversy, Oxford University Professor Dan Hicks took to Twitter to call Carr’s words a “shocking, carefully-scripted, hateful racist “joke””.

In a separate tweet, Professor Hicks responded to a tweet from Carr promoting his Netflix special and quipped “that’s not how you spell “His Racist Material””.
Carr is set to perform at the New Theatre Oxford on two dates, Monday, April 18 and Sunday, November 13.
The show is described as containing “jokes about all kinds of terrible things”.
