Oxford University staff were 'horrified' to learn that two of their faculty members had died in crashes with HGVs whilst cycling this month.
Ellen Moilanen, a Reuben College Academic Administrator died on February 8 this year near Oxford Parkway station.
On March 1, Ling Felce, a postdoctoral scientist at the Nuffield and the Radcliffe departments of medicine died at the Plain roundabout.
Reuben College has said: "Ellen will be fondly remembered as a friend to all, resourceful, funny, kind, to the point, and endlessly patient.
"Never could the college expect to have been blessed with such a wonderful colleague, and never could we have dreamt she be taken so suddenly.
"Our thoughts are with her husband Karo, family, friends and with all those for whom and with whom she worked so happily."
According to Oxford University, a number of college events were held in Ellen Moilanen's memory, and her funeral took place on 28 February.

Colleagues also paid tribute to 'incredibly kind and delightful colleague' Dr Ling.
Professor Tao Dong, who worked with the 35-year-old said she "quickly became a beloved member of our lab family."
"Ling was an incredibly kind and delightful colleague: we will miss her smiling face in group meetings.
"Ling was a very bright young scientist, excited about the future and everything it may bring for her and her young family.
"We are devastated by this tragedy that has taken her at such a promising point in her life. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time."
A vigil is being held for Ling Felce tomorrow at The Plain.

After these incidents, which both involved HGVs, the University has said they are taking action to try and prevent future cyclist deaths.
This includes requesting an urgent meeting of the Oxford Growth Group (including the University, colleges, Oxfordshire County Council and the district councils) to push for investments to improve cyclist safety at roundabouts.
It also includes considering how the University can take action to improve the safety of how it operates HGVs as part of its many construction projects.
