Recent debate has erupted about Oxford City Council's link to Russian town Perm.
Oxford has been officially twinned with Perm, a Russian city in Eastern Europe near the Ural Mountains, since 1995.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine that began on February 24 and has been intensifying in the past week, Ukrainians have condemned this link.
Oxford City Council has defended this link as transcending politics.
