SOME of the country’s top chefs will be brushing off their aprons and polishing their whisks to appear at Oxfordshire’s Big Feastival.
Junior Bake Off judge Ravneet Gill; cook, presenter and Wahaca co-founder Thomasina Miers; chef and restaurateur Robin Gill; and Great British Menu winner James Cochran will be turning up the heat for live cooking demonstrations and talks at the festival of music and food held on rock star Alex James’s farm at Kingham, near Chipping Norton.
They join a line-up already featuring music headliners The Human League, Anne-Marie and Stereophonics.
Other culinary stars to appear at the three-day event over the August Bank Holiday, include Ching He Huang, Lee Tiernan, Brad Carter, Benjamina Ebuehi, Ixta Belfrage, Lizzie Acker, Becky Excell, and perennial visitor DJ BBQ.
Along with the foodie talent is a line-up of children’s entertainment including children’s TV star Justin Fletcher, Andy & the Odd Socks, Bluey & Bingo, Zog, Cosmic Kids Yoga, and the return of Countryfile presenter Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park attraction at which children can come face to face with livestock from his Gloucestershire farm.

There will also be a creative session with Wallace and Gromit creators Aardman Animations, a silent disco and vintage funfair.
Last month host Alex - bass player with the band Blur - unveiled the musical bill, which, along with Anne Marie, Stereophonics and The Human League, includes Sugababes, Jake Bugg, Basement Jaxx, Gabrielle, Sam Ryder, Lola Young, Alfie Templeman, The Futureheads, The Sherlocks, The Lottery Winners, Duke, and annual favourites The Cuban Brothers.

Anne-Marie, who is perhaps best known for her vocals on Clean Bandit’s Rockabye alongside Jamaican star Sean Paul, made headlines after her appearance at the Brit Awards, last month, when she dramatically fell down stairs on stage – but continued with her performance.
Host Alex James said: “We’ve been busy building on last summer’s sold out festival and our strongest line up yet will bookend what promises to be an unforgettable summer of celebration.”
