A MAN has been arrested after a cyclist, a woman in her 30s, died in a horror crash at The Plain Roundabout in Oxford yesterday. 

The DAF tipper lorry crashed with the cyclist at around 2.35pm at the junction with St Clement's Street. 

The woman died at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

A 39-year-old man, from Oxford, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit of a drug and causing death by driving unlicensed.

He remains in custody.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash in the city.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Lyndsey Blackaby, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Sadly a woman has died following this collision. We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to please come forward.

“We’re also asking any motorists who were in the area around this time of the incident to please check any dash-cams in case they may have captured anything that may assist the investigation.
