Firefighters cut someone free from their vehicle as emergency crews dealt with a three-car crash on the A40.
In total, five people were taken to hospital - although Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said their injuries were not thought to be 'too serious'.
Crews from Witney, Carterton and Kidlington fire stations were sent to reports of a crash involving a number of vehicles shortly after 5.10pm on Sunday.
Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free one person who was trapped in their vehicle.
Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance were also called to the scene. They treated five people at the scene and all five were subsequently taken to hospital, the fire service said.
The A40 was shut in both directions at Barnard Gate, near Witney, but has since reopened.
