After news broke in the early hours of the morning that Ukraine was under attack, Oxford student Kateryna Marina knew something had to be done.
As a key member of the Oxford University Ukrainian Society, the 25-year-old rallied their troops and put out the word that they were demonstrating on Broad Street at 12pm.
She has family in Kyiv and said: “I’m worried about the country. It is an unprecedented situation in the heart of Europe. We never thought this would happen.
"It has not come out of nowhere but it was still shocking waking up this morning to the news."
Around 50 people answered the call and joined their march from Broad Street to the Radcliffe Camera where they sang the Ukrainian anthem, chants, and shared messages of solidarity.
