Alleged murder victim Keith Green died after he was stabbed in the chest.

Two men have been charged with his murder.

Keith Green was stabbed

Police were called by South Central Ambulance Service at 11.46pm on Sunday, February 13 following reports Mr Green had been stabbed in the back garden of a house in Howard Road, Banbury.

Mr Green was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics. He died after suffering a stab wound to the chest.

Tributes paid

Tributes were paid to Mr Green following his death.

Paying respect to Keith Green online, Shelby Delaney wrote: “My dad did not deserve this, he was only 40. This is raw for us all. So please be respectful.”

Ian Cox added: “He was family, he was my brother, RIP Keith Green sorry for loss thinking of you [family] it’s going to take a long time to sink in.”

Two men charged

Mark Meadows, 24, of Rees Court, Banbury, and Travis Gorton, 19, of Well Bank, Hook Norton, each face charges of murder and possession of a ‘large bladed hunting-style knife’.

Men appear in court

Meadows and Gorton appeared at Reading Crown Court via video link from HMP Bullingdon on Monday morning for a preliminary hearing. 

Judge Norton told the accused pair during the hearing, which lasted barely five minutes: “This case has been listed today because there is no judge available to deal with a case of this kind at Oxford today."

All future hearings and if there is a trial will be held at Oxford Crown Court.
