DURING his legendary career with Oxford United, Joey Beauchamp provided supporters with countless moments to remember.

While many of these moments are engrained in the memory of fans, hundreds were also captured by photographers.

Following the announcement of Beauchamp’s death, aged 50, we look at some of the photos that have become synonymous with United’s history and are part of the club’s folklore.

Beauchamp’s goal against Blackpool is one of those – arguably the greatest goal scored by a U’s player, both in terms of its quality and importance.

With the U’s hunting down the Seasiders in the 1995/96 Division Two promotion race, the two sides met at the Manor Ground during the run-in.

The teams were locked at 0-0 when the ball dropped out of the sky to Beauchamp 35 yards from goal.

The winger took a touch before sending a looping volley into the top corner in front of an ecstatic London Road end, to earn an invaluable 1-0 win.
