A WOMAN was left in 'complete shock' after a slate roof tile impaled her front door.
Shortly after Catherine Francis, who lives in Duke Street, Oxford, walked into her house, she heard a 'huge bang' and saw a shower of roof tiles outside her house.

Catherine said: "It was yesterday afternoon. I walked back into my house and suddenly the wind picked up and I heard this huge bang. I didn't realise what it was until half an hour later when I opened the door and saw that a roof tile had impaled my door.
"It was a complete shock. The tiles didn't hit any of the windows, but it was a bit too close to comfort."
Reminding her of a scene in the famous horror film The Shining, Catherine said the tiles had come from the house opposite hers and that she is glad no one was hurt.
"I could have been decapitated. I'm glad I didn't open the door earlier. The tile is massive and it must have come at such a force and it could have been really dangerous if someone was walking past," she said.
"I didn't realise just how dangerous the storm was until that happened. The fact it penetrated my door and the force it would have had to impale at that angle is crazy. It was perpendicular to the door.
"There's still a bit of slate in the door. I removed the tile which was quite difficult to do because it was really wedged in there and really heavy. I'm just glad no one got hurt."
