A salon owner who cut hair in breach of coronavirus lockdown rules has been fined £300.
Silvia Castro, 48, had been due to stand trial at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon charged with failing to cease carrying on a service not permitted to be open in January 2021, at the height of the third lockdown.
She was said to have kept Silvia Hair and Beauty Salon, on Walton Street, Jericho, open on January 9 last year – in contravention of a requirement to close her business.
Appearing before the justices on Monday morning, Castro, of Glenmore Business Park, Kidlington, changed her plea to guilty.
She was fined £300 and was ordered to pay £119 in costs and surcharge.
