A Mercedes driver is said to have led police on a high-speed chase – with a child in the back of the car.
Miley Connors, 35, is accused of driving the SUV dangerously on the M40 on December 29 last year.
Appearing before Oxford Crown Court last week, Connors, of Hambrook, near Chichester, pleaded not guilty to a single count of dangerous driving.
He returned to court on Wednesday morning, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of child neglect. The allegation is understood to relate to the child prosecutors say was in the car during the chase. The boy cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Recorder John Hardy QC bailed him to return to the court on August 22 for the trial.
