A man has been fined more than £200 by an Oxford court for failing to buy a £7 train ticket.
Max Malouho, of Calder Way in Didcot appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 28.

The court found that in on September 12 of last year Malouho travelled through Oxford on Great Western Railway without paying for, and intending to avoid payment of, his £7.10 ticket.
The court fined 35-year old Malouho £220, made him pay compensation of £7.10, a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £180.
On the Great Western Railway website states that if you travel without a ticket or one that is not valid, you could be issued with an Unpaid Fare Notice, a Penalty Fare Notice or be interviewed under caution.
The course of action taken depends on the circumstances.
