The star of ITV’s Lewis, and notable vaccine sceptic, Laurence Fox has tested positive for Covid-19.

The actor, who branched into politics with the launch of his Reclaim Party, revealed he tested positive on a Lateral Flow Test yesterday.

Fox wrote on Twitter: “In other news, felt shivery and crap yesterday. Turns out I have been visited by Lord Covid at last and have the Omnicold (if the LFT is to be believed!)

“On the #Ivermectin, saline nasal rinse, quercetin, paracetamol and ibruprofen.

“More man flu than Wu-flu at the moment.”

Ivermectin is a drug approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms, head lice and certain skin conditions. It is not proven to be effective against Covid-19, however vaccine sceptics such as Joe Rogan have promoted the use of it.

Fox’s positive test came days he wore a shirt saying ‘No vaccine needed, I have an immune system’.

Following his tweet, Fox released a video on Twitter hitting back at people who questioned his use of medication to treat his symptoms.

He said: “I don’t often read replies to my tweets but I saw that there were loads of them and the thing that made me laugh the most, the absolute most was people criticising me for taking Panadol and ibuprofen while saying ‘I thought you had an immune system mate’.

“I just want to say a huge shoutout to those that whenever they get a bit ill are willing to stick a totally novel, brand new technology, MRA treatment with absolutely no long term data, ahead of medications that have been prescribed billions and billions of times across the world.

He followed this up with a third tweet.

Fox said: “Not only do you only have to sign a form saying you feel well to get into Mexico, but you can also buy drugs like #Ivermectin over the counter that the vaccinaholics don’t want you to get hold of here.

“I’m so happy to be joining the natural immunity club. Going to have a nap.”

He has been a vocal sceptic of the Covid-19 vaccine and became an anti-lockdown campaigner during the pandemic.

Last year Fox stood in the London mayoral election to “fight against extreme political correctness” and end the Metropolitan Police’s “obsession with diversity and inclusivity”. He gained just 1.9 per cent of the vote and lost his £10,000 deposit.
