NOTHING quite screams Oxford like a Mini emblazoned with the crest of Oxford United.
The Mini is one of the city’s most famous exports and arguably the most popular car on the planet.
Part of what makes the car so adored is drivers’ funky ideas to personalise their Mini.
That is exactly what U’s superfan Emma Davis has done, with her customised motor a regular sight at the Kassam Stadium, making the 165-mile round trip from near Hereford every Saturday.
The design was created by Mrs Davis’ eldest son Toby, a graphic designer, six years ago with a personalised number plate a birthday present last year.

Mrs Davis told the Oxford Mail: “My previous car was a bright yellow Mini Cooper S, which had a Union Jack on the roof.
“I like my cars to have a bit of fun about them.
“We upgraded to the Countryman, which they only had in a dull grey.
“I said to Toby if he could do something to spruce it up, with an Oxford United angle.
“I got to watch them wrap it, it’s amazing how they do it.
“It was exactly what I wanted – I’m not an extrovert by character but I like to have fun cars.
“The fact it’s a Mini adds another special connection, with the Oxford link of course.
“There’s something about Minis and personalising them.”
Mrs Davis shared photos of her car on the Oxford United Fans Page on Facebook, with supporters expressing their admiration of the Mini.
The freelance proofreader is used to her car grabbing attention, with locals in south Herefordshire fully aware who she supports.
“I’m about 12 minutes from the Welsh border but all the delivery drivers and couriers know about how Oxford are doing because of the car,” she said.
“Everyone knows about it and we talk about our teams’ results.”
Mrs Davis and her sister Katherine – who lives on the outskirts of Oxford – are season ticket holders in the south stand.
Whether the U’s make the play-offs or not this season, Mrs Davis said the club will always be in her blood.
“I’ve been going since I was six, we used to go as a family to the Manor,” she said.
“I think Karl Robinson is a fantastic manager, not just coaching but being a man manager with the players too.
“It’s exciting times at the club – we’ve been so near yet so far in recent seasons, but we’re in a good place at the moment.
“I’ll watch them through thick and thin though, Oxford United is in my blood.”
