NEXT month Oxford is piloting Britain's first-ever Zero Emissions Zone (ZEZ).
This means polluting petrol and diesel vehicles will be a charge for entering parts of the city.
Only those vehicles that emit 'zero emissions' will not have to pay to enter certain streets in Oxford.
However, some people will be eligible to apply for a discount.
These discounts include:
- Blue Badge holder discount
- Disabled tax status discount
- Private hire vehicles and Hackney carriages discount
- Residents in the zero emission zone discount
- Health or care worker vehicle discount
- Community transport vehicle discount
- Business in the zero emission zone vehicle discount
- Students moving in or out of the zero emission zone
Those who are eligible for a discount must apply at least 10 days before entering the ZEZ.
At present, Oxfordshire County Council has not stated what date the scheme will begin, however, says it plans to be in operation by February.
To apply for a discount, please visit Oxfordshire County Council's website.
