The first full moon of 2022 rose in the sky last night and photographers were quick to snap some gorgeous pictures of the lunar event.
The January full moon, also known as the Wolf Moon, was at its brightest last night.
A full moon occurs when the moon is opposite the Earth in its orbit and it is fully illuminated by the sun.

Members of our Oxford Mail Camera Club group captured the full moon in exceptional clarity while it was brightly lit.
Photographers grabbed incredible snaps which showed off the moon's surface, including its moutains and craters, as well as skyline pictures of it all around the county.
