A driver in a car worth more than a quarter of a million pounds was fined £220 - for having an illegal number plate.
Qamar Iqbal, 36, was behind the wheel of his green Lamborghini Aventador when he was caught on Soho Hill, Birmingham, last July with the non-standard plate.
Court papers say the sports car, which has a retail price of more than £270,000, had a registration plate on which the numbers and letters were incorrectly spaced.
Iqbal’s case was dealt with through the single justice procedure, which sees a single magistrate deal with simple cases out of court.
He was found to have had a non-confirming registration plate. Iqbal, of Fergusson Road, Banbury, was fined £220 and must pay £119 in costs and surcharge.
The case was dealt with at Birmingham magistrates' court.
