Eight people were fined by an Oxford court during the last six months for failing to follow self-isolation rules.

The people all appeared in Oxford Magistrates’ Court for either failing to follow the self-isolation rules after a positive test or when arriving from another country.

All of the people were handed fines ranging from £691 to £2,000.

These are the people who appeared in court for not sticking to self-isolation rules:

GEORGE NTUI, 22, of Curzon Street in Reading failed to comply with self-isolation requirements following a positive coronavirus test and was located away from his home address. Ntui was fined £2,000, made to pay a victim surcharge of £190 and costs of £90.

WILLIAM HOLLINGSWORTH, 69, of Anson Road in Milton Keynes failed to self-isolate after arriving from Spain. Hollingsworth was fined £1,760, made to pay a victim surcharge of £176 and costs of £90.

RHIANNA GIBSON, 42, of Sutter Creek Drive in Brookfield, Wisconsin failed to self-isolate after arriving from the United States by leaving her property to go shopping and for a drive. Gibson was fined £1,760, made to pay a victim surcharge of £176 and costs of £90.

SURJIT SINGH, 43, of Blumfield Crescent in Slough failed to self-isolate after arriving from India as he admitted he left his home. Singh was fined £1,173, made to pay a victim surcharge of £117 and costs of £90.

JASON CARTY, 37, of Reddington Drive in Slough failed to self-isolate after arriving from France as he failed to remain inside the address during the quarantine period. Carty was fined £1,760, made to pay a victim surcharge of £176 and costs of £90.

IOAN BUTA, 29, of Sugworth Lane in Abingdon failed to self-isolate after arriving from Romania as he continued to leave his house on a daily basis. Buta was fined £1,760, made to pay a victim surcharge of £176 and costs of £90.

AISHA AKHTAR, 28, of Hollings Court in Aylesbury failed to self-isolate after arriving from Pakistan. Akhtar was fined £691, made to pay a victim surcharge of £69 and costs of £85.

ANATOLIE GHEORGHITA, 37, of Old Bracknell Close in Bracknell Forest failed to self-isolate after arriving from Moldova. Gheorghita was fined £691, made to pay a victim surcharge of £69 and costs of £85.
